Abstract

Parents are an important component of the family because they are the first place for a child to grow and develop properly and protect children from sexual violence that often occurs in society in accordance with Law No. 35 of 2014 amending Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection. Non-penal measures are efforts to prevent crime before it occurs. This study aims to prevent sexual violence against children through non-penal measures by emphasizing the role of parents. This study is an empirical legal study with a sociological approach. Primary data was obtained through interviews and direct field observations and analyzed qualitatively. All data obtained was analyzed and described descriptively. The results of the study show that the role of parents as educators and supervisors is essential in preventing sexual violence against children.
