Keywords:
Objectives, Principles, Criminal Procedure, Indonesian Law EnforcementAbstract
This article discusses the objectives and principles of criminal procedure law as the main pillar in law enforcement in Indonesia. The background of this research is the imbalance between the objectives of law enforcement and the protection of individual rights that often occurs in the practice of criminal procedure law. This study aims to analyze the relevance and implementation of the objectives and principles of criminal procedure law in legal practice in Indonesia. The results of the study show that there is a significant gap between theory and practice, especially in the application of the principle of presumption of innocence and the principle of speedy, simple, and low cost justice. Cases such as wrongful arrest indicate the need for reforms in the law enforcement system, including improved quality of investigations, better access to legal aid, and accountability of law enforcement officials. In conclusion, in order to achieve true justice, comprehensive reforms in the application of criminal procedure law are urgently needed, so that the principles of justice are not only theoretical concepts but also implemented in daily practice.
